Thetford Corporation's Chemical Engineering Department worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2008 to reformulate five products  and be among the first in the industry to gain Design for the Environment status. DfE is an EPA program that partners with stakeholders like Thetford to develop products that reduce hazards to humans and the environment.

Formulas carrying the DfE logo were reviewed, recognized to be in compliance with DfE requirements, and use "best-in-class" components from the CleanGredients database.

Thetford entered into this unique partnership to demonstrate its commitment to safety and the environment but wouldn't have done so without being assured that its RV and Marine Care products don't sacrifice performance.

In fact, as part of the DfE process, the products were field tested and proven to work as well or better than "conventional" products.

The EPA partnership is on-going. Thetford will continue working with the EPA to produce more environmentally-sensitive products in the future.
