What is a separation toilet?

A separation toilet is a dry toilet (without water) that separates solid and liquid waste streams directly from each other.

Solids go into a waste bag and the urine is collected in a separate tank. Both can be emptied separately, very easily and hygienically.

It is an increasingly popular choice among campers, vanlifers and off-grid travellers looking for a more environmentally conscious alternative to the classic cassette toilet.
